The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has unveiled the squad for the England Lions' upcoming tour to India, set to take place alongside the senior men's team's Test series in the subcontinent. The Lions team, featuring notable talents, will be captained by Lancashire's standout batter Josh Bohannon.

Bohannon, who emerged as a top performer in the County Championship Division One last season, amassed a remarkable 1257 runs at an impressive average of 59.85, including four centuries. His leadership and batting prowess will be crucial as he heads the 15-member Lions squad in four multi-day red-ball matches scheduled in Ahmedabad during January and February 2024.

The squad also boasts of the young and talented James Rew from Somerset. Rew's exceptional season, highlighted by five centuries and a total of 1086 runs, earned him the accolade of PCA Young Player of the Year. His inclusion in the Lions squad reflects his rising prominence in English cricket.

Experienced players like Keaton Jennings, who has previously scored a Test century in India, and opener Alex Lees, will add depth to the squad. Additionally, fast bowler Matt Potts is another vital inclusion, expected to bring his pace and skill to the fore in Indian conditions.

The tour is set to commence with a two-day warm-up game against India A from January 12-13, followed by three four-day matches that will extend until February 4. All these matches will take place at the famous Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, offering the Lions a challenging and enriching cricketing experience.
