Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is scheduled to start from November 22.

Jasprit Bumrah will lead India in Perth Test against Australia.

India need 4-0 win in five Test match series to qualify for WTC Final.

Australia speedster Josh Hazlewood said that Team India will miss the services of their veteran speedster Mohammed Shami in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 which is scheduled to start from November 22. Shami is currently in India and he recently made his cricketing comeback after almost a year. He has not travelled with the team for this Test. The speedster featured for the Bengal cricket team in the ongoing Ranji Trophy and picked seven wickets during competitive cricket. He will most likely to join the Indian squad before the second Test.

The Aussie quick also said that Jasprit Bumrah has taken over Shami's role well over the years.

"They will miss him. He has played around 60 Tests. He is a senior bowler. Of course, he is someone all the youngsters look up to but Jasprit Bumrah has taken that role over the years. He is also the captain in the first Test maybe and he is someone who players look up to and is the leader of the attack. The depth and talent India have in all facets is unbelievable," said Hazlewood.

"It is a five-Test series, an added factor. It is going to be more gruelling. If you win a series against India in any part of the world, you know you have earned it. So yeah, it is right up there," he signed off.

Team India will play the first Test without captain Rohit Sharma as he is currently in Mumbai spending time with his family. On the other hand, young batter Shubman Gill also got an injury during India's match simulation session at WACA in Perth. He has fractured his thumb and there are very less chances that he will play in the first Test.
