The International Cricket Council (ICC) on March 29 (Wednesday) announced the latest ODI rankings as India captain Rohit Sharma and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya enjoyed decent gains in points to move up the ladder. The rankings were announced taking into consideration the Chennai ODI between India and Australia. Rohit moved up one place to be eighth in the batters' list while all-Hardik jumped 10 positions to be 76th among bowlers in the ICC ODI Rankings.
Young India star Shubman Gill continues to be the highest-ranked Indian batter in the ICC ODI Rankings. The stylish right-handed batter is currently at the No.5 position on the rankings. Former captain and maverick batter, Virat Kohli has had a good start to ODI cricket in 2023 and he continues to be in the No.7 position. Overall, there are three Indian batters in the top 10 of the ICC ODI Rankings.
Pakistan captain and elegant right-handed batter, Babar Azam continues to be the No.1 ranked willow-wielder in 50-over international cricket.
When it comes to bowlers, Mohammed Siraj at number three was the only Indian in the top 10 bowlers list, headed by Australia's Josh Hazlewood.
Australia leg-spinner Adam Zampa has moved up three places to a career-best sixth position after his match-winning haul of four for 45 in the third game against India in Chennai.
Mitchell Marsh, who bagged the Player of the Series award during the India vs Australia ODIs, also made gains, jumping four slots to reach 51st position among batters with an aggregate of 194 runs in the series.
Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan moved back to the top of the T20 rankings after leading his side to a 2-1 series victory over Pakistan in Sharjah.
Rashid, who took a wicket each in the three matches conceding a total of 62 runs off his 12 overs, has overtaken Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga to take the top position among bowlers.
