The ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup will begin on the January 14 in the West Indies. The 14th edition of the tournament will see 16 teams competing for the trophy in 48 matches.
India U19 are placed in Group B. During the group stage, each team will face the others in their group once. The top two teams from each group will qualify for quarter-finals. Then, the winners of the quarter-finals will face in the semi-finals. The winning teams of both the semi-final games will lock horns in the final, set to take place on February 5, 2022.
The Indian squad is led by Delbi-born batter Yash Dhull. Recently, the India U19 team won the Under-19 Asia Cup 2021 held in UAE. Hence, they will be on top of their confidence for the ICC U19 ODI World Cup 2022 eyeing another title.
Star Sports Network holds the broadcasting rights for ICC U19 ODI World Cup in India. Hence, the live coverage of the event including IND U19's warm-up matches will be available on Star Sports Network whereas the live streaming will be available on Disney+ Hotstar.
India are the most successful team having won four titles in 2000, 2008, 2012 and 2018. India have also been runner-up in 2016 and in the previous edition of the tournament held in 2020 in South Africa.
India will square off against South Africa on January 15 followed by encounters against Ireland and Uganda on January 19 and 22 respectively.
