Bangladesh crisis has led to ICC looking for Plan B.

Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma, won the title of ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. Now the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 was to be played in the month of October this year to be hosted by Bangladesh. However, due to the bad conditions in Bangladesh, ICC has now started working on Plan B and media reports have revealed that this global tournament can be organized in India also.

ICC's take on the matter

As per a report from  ESPN Cricinfo, India, Sri Lanka, and UAE are the potential candidates that the ICC could turn to for hosting the mega tournament.

An ICC official said that the situation in Bangladesh is currently being monitored and all options are kept open. He said "The ICC is closely monitoring developments in co-ordination with the Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB], their security agencies, and our own independent security consultants," an ICC statement said, "Our priority is the safety and well-being of all participants."

Whereas in the race between India, Sri Lanka, and UAE, UAE seems to be at the forefront. Because if this tournament to be held in the month of October is held in Sri Lanka, then there is more risk of rain there. Whereas Pakistani players may have to face visa-related problems if they get it done in India. In this context, the UAE can also be given hosting.

When will the T20 World Cup 2024 start?

Currently, this tournament between 10 teams will officially start in Bangladesh on 3rd October and its final will be played on the 20th of October. But ICC is going to announce its new host soon.
