The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the India A team to participate in the upcoming Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024. The tournament will be held in Oman from October 18 to 27, with eight teams competing.
Tilak Varma to lead India A in Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024
Tilak Varma will lead the India A team in the tournament. The opening batting duties will be shared by Abhishek Sharma, Prabhsimran Singh, and Anuj Rawat, who will also serve as wicketkeepers.
Ayush Badoni, known for his impressive performance in the Delhi Premier League T20, and Mumbai Indians star Nehal Wadhera have been included in the team to handle middle-order responsibilities.
The India A team will feature several all-rounders for the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024. Nishant Sindhu, Ramandeep Singh, and Hrithik Shokeen will be key contributors to the team's success with both their batting and bowling skills.
Sai Kishore and Rahul Chahar will serve as the team's primary spinners. The India A pace attack includes Anshul Kamboj, who made a significant impact in the Duleep Trophy with eight wickets in an innings, Rasikh Salam, a star performer for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024, Aaqib Khan, and Vaibhav Arora, who was part of KKR.
Notably, the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 will see eight teams going after the coveted trophy which will be divided into two groups.
