The interim chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Najam Sethi in the early hours of June 20 (Tuesday) took to Twitter and made a massive announcement regarding his future with the country's cricket board. Sethi, in a tweet, confirmed that he is withdrawing from the race to become the next permanent chairman of the PCB, saying that he didn't want to be a bone of contention between Asif Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif.
"Salaam everyone! I don’t want to be a bone of contention between Asif Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif. Such instability and uncertainty is not good for PCB. Under the circumstances I am not a candidate for Chairmanship of PCB. Good luck to all stakeholders," Sethi said in a tweet.
Sethi was appointed as the interim chairman of the PCB in December 2022 and his tenure will end on June 21 (Wednesday). Sethi took charge of PCB after ex-chairman Ramiz Raja resigned from his post.
