Royal Challengers Bangalore have appointed Luke Williams from Australia as the head coach of the RCB women's team for the Women's Premier League. The 43-year-old former cricketer from Adelaide, who played first-class cricket for South Australia, brings a wealth of coaching experience.

Williams, who previously served as the head coach of Adelaide Strikers, helped lead the team to victory in the 2022-23 season, following two runner-up finishes. He also contributed to Southern Brave's Women's Hundred Championship title win and guided the South Australian Scorpions to two runner-up finishes in the Women's National Cricket League (50 overs). He also led the Australia A team on their tour of England earlier this year.

Prathamesh Mishra, Chief Commercial Officer of Diageo India and President of RCB, welcomed Williams and expressed high hopes for the team's performance under his leadership.

Williams stated, "I am thrilled to have this opportunity with RCB and am eager to begin preparations for the second season of the Women's Premier League. I look forward to working with a talented group of players from India and around the world to enhance our fan base and achieve success."

The RCB women's team is determined to improve their performance after finishing 5th out of 6 teams in their debut season, under the captaincy of Smriti Mandhana, winning only 2 matches.
