Rohit Sharma drops big hint on his participation in 2024 T20 World Cup

After the T20 World Cup 2022 ouster, India's T20 structure underwent a significant change, with Hardik Pandya leading the Men in Blue in the slam bang format. Though veteran players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli haven't retired from T20Is, they have been largely overlooked, with selectors opting to bring in the young talent. Questions persist regarding Rohit's future beyond the 2023 ODI World Cup, but the batting maestro recently hinted that he has no plans to retire soon.

A video which is circulating in the social media, Rohit can be seen discussing the 2024 T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in the United States and the West Indies. At the event in the USA, Rohit expressed his anticipation for next year's marquee event.

He stated in the video, "More than just going and enjoying, there is another reason to come here (in the USA). Because you know the World Cup is coming. In June, there will be the T20 World Cup (2024) happening in this part of the world. So, I'm pretty sure everyone is excited. So yaa, we look forward to that."

With Hardik now captaining the Indian T20I team, Rohit's role has been restricted to ODIs and Test matches. His last appearance in a T20 match was for his Indian Premier League (IPL) team, the Mumbai Indians.

However, his performance for the Mumbai Indians in the recent season wasn't impressive, accumulating only 332 runs in 16 games. With only two half-centuries to his name, his performance has led fans and critics to question his future in the shortest format of the game.
