India’s senior duo Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli disappeared from ICC ODI batter rankings. Last week, Rohit and Kohli were among the top five batters in the rankings. Later, ICC clarified that their absence from the rankings is owed to a technical glitch which has now been rectified.
Rohit and Kohli are expected to return for the three-ODI Series against on Australian soil in October. Rohit is ranked second whereas Kohli is in the fourth position with 756 and 736 rating points respectively.

Cricket Australia have plans to pay tribute to Rohit and Kohli
Cricket Australia (CA) CEO Todd Greenberg has already said that they are preparing to give Kohli and Rohit a great send-off as this will be their last Australia tour.
"And if you think about the quality of the players coming, particularly from India, this might be the last time we get to see Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma play in our country. If that’s the case — who knows, it might not be — but if it is, we want to make sure we give them a great send-off and acknowledge the incredible contribution they've made to international cricket."
What Gambhir said about Rohit and Kohli's ODI future?
A few months earlier, Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir was asked about Rohit and Kohli's ODI future and whether they are in scheme of things for the ODI World Cup 2027.
“We still have a T20 World Cup before that, and that is again a huge tournament, which is going to happen in India in February-March. So, the entire focus at the moment—after England—will be on the T20 World Cup. And November-December 2027 is still two-and-a-half years away,” Gambhir said.
“I’ve always said one thing—if you keep performing, age is just a number,” he added.
