Pakistan will host the Champions Cup from September 12.

Pakistan recently lost a Test series against Bangladesh.

Pakistan Cricket Board have proposed the Champions Cup as their white ball ODI domestic tournament ahead of the upcoming Champions Trophy which is scheduled to start from September 12. PCB are currently facing a lot of heat after losing the two Test match series against Bangladesh.

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Kamran Akmal slammed PCB for hosting the Champions Cup. He compared the Champions Cup with the Duleep Trophy which is a red-ball tournament. He said that someone should lock PCB officials in a room and show them Musheer Khan's innings where he scored 181 runs in the opener clash

"In my view, the Champions One-Day Cup is a waste of time and money. These decisions will have huge ramifications, leading to a loss of interest in the game and ruining the thought process of so many kids who look up to the game. It's a concerning situation," said Kamran Akmal on a YouTube chat show.

"Today India's Musheer Khan scored 181. So I think someone should lock those PCB officials ( who suggested this idea of the Champions Cup) in a room and show them Musheer Khan's innings from the Duleep Trophy. Explain to them that this is how players are made.

Pakistan are currently at their lowest and there are reports that they will sack their captains. PCB will likely Sack Babar Azam and Shan Masood from captaincy and will likely announce Mohammad Rizwan as their new captain across all formats.

Now the Pakistan team will play the ODI series against Australia from November 4 and after that, the ICC Champions Trophy is also to be played in February next year. For this, the Pakistan Board would like to announce the new captain as soon as possible.
