After crushing the West Indies in the first Test match at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Pakistan extended their stellar home run. Shan Masood and company continued their 2-1 series victory against England from the previous year, scoring 127 runs on the third day to take an unbeatable 1-0 lead in the two-match series. After missing the South Africa tour, Sajid Khan rejoined the Pakistani lineup and took nine wickets throughout the match, earning him the Player of the Match award.
At the end of Day 2, Pakistan was just ahead at Stumps as they were only trailing by 202 runs with seven wickets remaining. Jomel Warrican went through Pakistan's batting lineup in the early session of the third day, causing them to lose their final seven wickets for just 48 runs. With a partnership of 67 runs for the first wicket, Shan Masood and Muhammad Hurraira had set the stage, but Pakistan was unable to build on the incredible start.
Jomel Warrican concluded with amazing numbers of 18-3-32-7, and he went on to star for the West Indies. Pakistan gave the visitors a difficult goal of 251 to chase after Hurraira and Masood's partnership and Kamran Ghulam's useful 27-run knock. Salman Ali Agha's other wicket was taken by Gudakesh Motie.
Sajid Khan, Abrar Ahmed steal show
The spin combination of Abrar Ahmed and Sajid Khan dominated the West Indies during their run-chase, as the Caribbean squad was dismissed for 123 in 36.3 overs. Despite taking five wickets in the first innings, Noman Ali only managed one. Once Kraigg Brathwaite was eliminated, Sajid drew the first blood. All of the West Indies batsmen were unable to handle Pakistan's bowling after that, except Alick Athanaze.
The Caribbean team was bowled for 123 in 36.3 overs as the West Indies were overpowered by the spin combination of Abrar Ahmed and Sajid Khan throughout their run-chase. Noman Ali took five wickets in the first innings, but he only took one. Sajid earned the first blood when Kraigg Brathwaite was defeated.
