Wasim Akram is unhappy with Pakistan's squad selection for Champions Trophy 2025.

Pakistan have been knocked out of Champions Trophy 2025 last four race.

Legendary Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram's wife Shaniera has lashed out at social media account picking the all-rounder in their 'Divorced XI'. A social media account named 'Out of Context Cricket' featured Akram in the 'Divorced XI'.

"Hey @GemsOfCricket You guys are definitely "out of context" and from what I can see you're also out of correct and reliable information! 👏🏼," she wrote on X in reply to the post.

The account featured India's Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammad Rizwan, Vinod Kambli, Ravi Shastri, Dinesh Karthik, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath and Mohammed Shami along with Pakistan's Akram and Australia's Shane Warne. The portal in bad taste included Yuzvendra Chahal as well. There have been rumours of Chahal's divorce of late.

Akram unhappy with squad selection

Meanwhile, Wasim is commentating and lending his expertise on Cricket Central's panel during ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Following Pakistan's defeat against India and their elimination from Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal race, the 58-year-old had called for drastic changes in the squad.

"We need drastic steps. Enough is enough! We have been losing with the same players for years now in white-ball cricket. It's time to take a bold step and bring in young players who play fearless cricket. If you want to make big changes, go for it. Give the new players six months, back them, and start preparing for the 2026 T20 World Cup. We have had enough. You gave them chances and made them stars," he said on the 'Dressing Room Show'.

Akram also questioned the squad selection. He criticised captain Mohammad Rizwan for banking on part-time spinners Khushdil Shah and Agha Salman to dismiss Virat Kohli in middle overs.

"Did it look like Khushdil Shah and Salman Agha could have dismissed Virat Kohli? We are screaming here, saying the squad is not okay. The Chairman told them to announce the squad with a day left. They had a meeting for an hour and walked out with the same team," the legendary pacer said.
