Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir who is all set to start his tenure as the new Indian head coach with the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka for three T20Is and ODIs, will be addressing the media in a press conference ahead of the series. This will be the first media interaction of Gambhir following the official announcement of his appointment and India's chief selector Ajit Agarkar will be present along with him. He has taken over the office as the successor of legendary Rahul Dravid after India's historic triumph in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados.

BCCI will most likely be announcing the new coaching staff in this media interaction and as per reports, Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate will be joining the Indian team as assistant coaches, the same role they had in the KKR camp. Meanwhile, T Dilip will be retaining his spot as the fielding coach. South African legend Morne Morkel has also most likely secured the position of bowling coach. However, he won't be joining the team from the Sri Lanka tour due to some personal reasons. Sairaj Bahutule, a member of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) will be traveling on the tour as interim bowling coach in his place.
