Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal who is currently featuring in Duleep Trophy 2024 for India B has opened up on World Test Championship Tests ahead of the Bangladesh series which is scheduled to start from September 19. He said that every match is important for the WTC cycle. India will be playing a two-match Test and three-game T20I series against Bangladesh at home from September 19 to October 12. 


This will be followed by a three-match test series against New Zealand from October 16 to November 5. These two series' will pave India's preparation for the Border Gavaskar Trophy later this year. 


"Every match is important because of the World Test Championship. You have to make sure you give your best as every win counts. Any opportunity to play for India is incredible, and representing the country is the biggest motivation that I have," Jaiswal told Jio CInema.

He also shares his thoughts on the significance of domestic tournaments like the Duleep Trophy and his aspirations for India's red-ball cricket season.

 

"It's a great opportunity whenever we have the chance to play the Duleep or Ranji Trophy. I'm really looking forward to that, and I hope I'll enjoy my game. I'll try my best," Jaiswal added.
 

Yashasvi Jaiswal's career

Jaiswal played 23 T20Is and scored 723 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 164.32 and the young batter has featured in nine Test matches where he scored 1028 runs. He recently featured in the Sri Lanka T20I series which was led by Suryakumar Yadav. That series was the first assignment for Gautam Gambhir as India's head coach. Jaiswal is yet to make his debut in ODIs. Yashasvi Jaiswal will most likely to feature in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.
