Indian cricketers Axar Patel, Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma visited the Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple in Mumbai on Holi ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal against England to seek blessings from Lord Ganesha. Notably, the T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal between India and England will take place at iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
They offered prayers, took darshan, and participated in rituals, hoping for strength, focus and good fortune before the high-pressure clash. The clip on Indian players went viral on social media here is the video.
Indian players' performance in T20 World Cup 2026
The tournament has been a mixed one for some of them. Abhishek Sharma has found it tough with the bat, managing just one half-century in six matches so far. Ishan Kishan looked in good touch during the group stage but couldn’t carry that form into the Super 8s. Axar Patel, too, hasn’t been able to make a major impact yet.
As a team, however, India have performed strongly. They have won six out of seven matches, with their only defeat being a 76-run loss to South Africa in the Super 8 stage.
How India performed in T20 World Cup 2026
Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, India secured their semifinal spot with an important five-wicket win over West Indies in a must-win Super 8 game. After conceding 195/4 in 20 overs, India chased down the target successfully. Sanju Samson played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 97, while Tilak Varma and others chipped in to keep the chase steady.
England's performance in T20 World Cup 2026
England, on the other hand, have also been impressive. The two-time champions topped their Super 8 group with three wins in three matches. Led by Harry Brook, England will be looking to carry their strong form into the semifinal against the defending champions.
