Former India captain and legendary batter, Sachin Tendulkar came up with a piece of advice for the England men's senior team after Day 3 of their ongoing Test match against Australia came to an end at Headingley, Leeds on July 8 (Saturday). Chasing a target of 251 runs, England openers combined for an unbeaten stand of 27 runs before the end of the day's play on Saturday, leaving just 224 runs to chase down on Sunday.
With 10 wickets in hand, the Three Lions are currently the favourites to win the Headingley Test. Australia would try and stage a comeback with a flurry of wickets and the hosts would look to play their counter-attacking brand of cricket to neutralise whatever threat the Baggy Greens' bowlers pose.
Sachin believes that the first hour on Day 4 will be 'critical'. He also reckoned that there are no demons in the pitch and if England approach the target with a positive mindset and play sensible, they will end up winning the game.
"The first hour at Headingley is going to be critical tomorrow," Sachin said in a tweet.
"I feel the wicket is playing absolutely fine and if England bat sensibly and are positive in their approach they will get there. They require discipline in their shot selection with a positive approach and the total will be chased," he added.
Ben Stokes' side is desperate for a win as they ended up losing the first two matches of the series. A defeat at Headingley would spell doom for the Three Lions as Pat Cummins' men will then take an unassailable lead in the five-match series.
Having said that, England would be low-key confident of completing the task at hand on Sunday and staging a comeback into the series.
