Former Mumbai Indians' pacer Tymal Mills became only the second bowler in The Hundred's history to bag a hat-trick. The left-arm seamer achieved the milestone during Southern Brave's commanding nine-wicket win over Welsh Fire on August 12 (Saturday). Mills scripted the fantastic feat during the last three balls of Welsh Fire's innings when he dismissed three batters on the trot. Mills first dismissed Ben Green followed by the wickets of Haris Rauf and David Payne. Mills left his imprint on the match as he finished with figures of 4/13 in 20 balls.

Batting first, Welsh Fire posted a below-par total of 87 all out as Mills-led Brave's bowling attack kept the opposition batters in check. Opener and England international, Jonny Bairstow registered a four-ball duck while No.3 batter Joe Clarke had identical numbers to Bairstow. Stephen Eskinazi scored 38 runs off 34 balls and ended up as the highest-scorer for Welsh Fire.
Apart from Mills' four-fer, George Garton bagged three wickets. Craig Overton picked two wickets while Matthew Fisher chipped in with a wicket.
Southern Brave made a mockery of Welsh Fire's total and chased down the target in just 59 balls. New Zealand international and opening batter Finn Allen scored 31 runs off 22 balls with the ball of five fours and one six. Allen's opening batter and countryman, Devon Conway remained unbeaten on 35 runs off 25 balls with the help of five fours. Captain Leus du Plooy remained unbeaten on 17 runs off 12 balls with the help of one four and one six.
For Welsh Fire, David Payne was the only bowler in the wickets column. International and Pakistan stars, Shaheen Afridi and Rauf failed to have an impact with the ball. Left-arm pacer Afridi leaked 10 runs in as many deliveries while right-arm paceman Rauf conceded 15 runs in 10 balls.
