A crucial meeting was held between COE head VVS Laxman, BCA secretary Devajit Saikia, and other key BCCI officials to assess the ongoing situation. The discussion focused on the injury management process and the coordination between BCCI and COE. VVS Laxman emphasised that the collaboration and communication between the committees and team management are seamless, aiming to ensure players selected are fit to play.

During the meeting, concerns over the injuries of players like Jasprit Bumrah and Sai Sudarshan were addressed. Laxman clarified that each injured player’s fitness status is continuously monitored, and selections are made subject to fitness clearance. An asterisk beside player selections indicates that they are under rehabilitation and their participation depends on improving fitness before the series begins.

Devajit Saikia reinforced this by explaining that selections happen weeks in advance, but final fitness assessments closer to the series can change player availability. The process involves ongoing communication with selectors, coaches, and the BCCI to manage player health responsibly, avoiding premature rejection of players who might recover in time.
