Story Highlights:

Virat Kohli will feature for Delhi in their VHT opener clash.

Batting stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are gearing up for their domestic comeback for their respective state teams. Kohli, who recently smashed two centuries in three match ODI series against South Africa, will be seen representing Delhi in their Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) clash against Andhra and on the other hand, Rohit will be seen featuring for Mumbai in their clash against Sikkim. Delhi's clash will take place at the BCCI CoE, and the clash between Mumbai and Sikkim will take place at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. However, the duo will feature behind closed doors, and the clash will not be telecast live.

Why Rohit and Virat's clash will not be telecast live

All 38 teams in the Vijay Hazare Trophy play on the same day, with all matches starting at the same time. While 19 matches happen simultaneously, the BCCI only telecasts a few of them, just like it does during the Ranji Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

At the moment, broadcast facilities are available at only two venues. Matches being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot will be shown on TV. However, games held on the secondary grounds at these venues will not be telecast.

Since Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai team is playing in Jaipur and Virat Kohli’s Delhi team is playing in Bengaluru, their matches will not be available on television or live streaming.

Rohit and Virat's last VHT outing

Kohli's last Vijay Hazare Trophy appearance came 15 years ago on February 18, 2010, captaining Delhi against Services at the Tata Energy Research Institute Oval ground in Gurgaon and on the other hand, Rohit last turned up for Mumbai seven years ago in 2018, shortly after leading India to the Asia Cup title. Rohit appeared in the quarter-final and semi-final matches against Bihar and Hyderabad with Mumbai winning both games.
