The T20 Blast has provided some entertaining cricket this season as many players have shone for their respective county sides. During the match between Essex and Glamorgan, Dan Lawrence, who has played only Test cricket for England, was the star after smashing 37 ball-71 during a T20 match between the two teams.

Lawrence was the highest scorer for his county team, Essex, which included a brilliant innings of eight fours and three sixes. He helped his team to a score of 254 runs in 20 overs as his side registered a big victory of 69 runs over their opponents. This is impressive given that his only international appearances for England are 11 Test matches.

In addition to Lawrence, Paul Walter also played a blistering innings of 58 runs in 23 balls with six sixes and two fours. The duo set up a stand of 101 runs in just 48 balls. Lower order batters Daniel Sams also joined in the action with a quickfire unbeaten 21 runs off just 10 balls, while skipper Simon Harmer's hit three fours in four balls to help his team an above-par score of 254 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.

In response to such a big total, the Glamorgan batters tried their best but were well short of their opponents. The team could only muster 185 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their stipulated 20 overs as their team were condemned to a 69-run defeat. This was Essex's ninth win of the season in 14 matches in the South Group this season. They remain in the second spot on the points table and have 19 points under their belt. Meanwhile, leading the group is Surrey with 21 points.
