Trent Bridge will officially rename its Pavilion End to the Stuart Broad End on Thursday, July 18th, before the start of the second Test between England and the West Indies.
Big honour for Stuart Broad
“Ticket-holders for day one of the Trent Bridge Test are advised to take their seats by 10.40 am as we officially rename the Pavilion End of our venue in honour of Stuart Broad,” Nottinghamshire CC said in a statement.
Stuart Broad, a Nottinghamshire cricket legend, will have the Pavilion End renamed in his honor on Thursday. His father, Chris Broad, a former cricketer, match referee, and current club president, will join him for the unveiling ceremony.
"I'm delighted that the Nottinghamshire Committee decided that Stuart should be remembered in this way. To have an end named after him is a complete delight," Chris said.
Stuart Broad, a Nottinghamshire and England legend, will be immortalized at Trent Bridge. The Pavilion End will be renamed in his honor on Thursday, marking the start of the second Test against the West Indies. Broad, who retired with a remarkable Test career that included 604 wickets, will share this special moment with his father, Chris, a former cricketer and current club president. Chris expressed his overwhelming pride and Stuart's emotional response to the news.
"I took a picture of the scoreboard and sent it to Stuart, and he was a little bit emotional seeing his name up there. I'm so proud and privileged to see him being given that honour,” said the 66-year-old.
England currently leads the three-match series 1-0 after a dominant victory in the first Test, which was also James Anderson's farewell match. Broad, who is a commentator for the series, will see his name immortalized at Trent Bridge as the Pavilion End is renamed in his honor.
