Radha, Kapp force UP Warriorz into submission

The UP Warriorz, batting first, were restricted to a modest total of 119/9. This was largely due to the exceptional bowling efforts of Radha Yadav, who secured four wickets for just 20 runs in her four overs, and Marizanne Kapp, who devastated the Warriorz's top order with her spell of 4-1-5-3. Despite Shweta Sehrawat's valiant effort of 45 runs from 42 deliveries, which included five boundaries and a six, the UP team struggled to build a competitive score.

Contributions from Arundhati Reddy and Annabel Sutherland, who each took a wicket, rounded off a comprehensive performance by the Capitals.

In response, the Delhi Capitals showcased their batting strength, achieving 123 for one in just 14.3 overs. The opening duo of Meg Lanning, with a solid half-century (51), and Shafali Verma, with an unbeaten 64, led the Capitals to a comfortable victory, underlining their status as formidable contenders in the league. Their partnership ensured that Delhi crossed the finish line with a significant 5.3 overs to spare, highlighting their efficient chase.

Shafali and Lanning combined for a 119-run alliance before the latter was dismissed by Sophie Ecclestone on the stroke of victory. Jemimah Rodrigues walked out to bat at No.3 and smashed the winning boundary for Delhi Capitals.

Delhi Capitals on 2nd place in points table

This win propelled the Delhi Capitals to the second spot in the league's five-team points table, marking them as a team to watch in the tournament.

The match was a testament to the Delhi Capitals' balanced team composition, showcasing their bowling and batting depth. As the tournament progresses, their performance against the UP Warriorz will undoubtedly boost their confidence, setting the stage for more exciting cricket in the Women's Premier League.
