In a moment that made cricket fans around the world emotional, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh and star spinner Shreyanka Patil broke down in tears after the team's loss against Delhi Capitals on March 10 (Sunday) in Women's Premier League (WPL) match. The incident transpired after RCB, needing two runs off the final ball of the match, ended up losing the contest with one run with Ghosh and Patil in the middle.

After losing the match, Ghosh and Patil broke down emotionally as tears came running down their eyes. The RCB duo was utterly gutted after failing to take the team to the promised land. Ghosh, in particular, was heartbroken as her 51-run knock from 29 balls which was embellished with four fours and three sixes went in vain.

In a heartwarming moment that witnessed sportsmanship come to the fore, the Delhi Capitals players were seen embracing and comforting Ghosh and Patil on the field.

Suryakumar Yadav, Jemimah Rodrigues react

India batter Suryakumar Yadav took to Instagram and showed his love and support for Richa Ghosh. Suryakumar, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation, posted a picture of Ghosh on his Instagram status and wrote: "You Are A Star".

Richa's teammate with the Indian national team, Jemimah Rodrigues also comforted the former and has few heartwarming words to say.

"I feel for Richa Ghosh. I told her, this will help you in future - maybe she could hit the winning runs in the World Cup Final for India & help us lift the Trophy," Jemimah said after the game.

RCB is 3rd on the points table

With three wins and four loses in seven matches played in the tournament so far, Smriti Mandhana's RCB is currently third in the WPL points table. Delhi Capitals surged to the top of the standings after registering a win on Sunday. Delhi has five wins in seven matches played so far. Mumbai Indians are second with an identical record to Delhi, only to be separated by Net Run Rate (NRR).
