In match 18 of the ongoing Women's Premier League (WPL) between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, Jemimah Rodrigues pulled off a spectacular catch at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on March 20 (Monday). The incident occurred on the third ball of the fourth over of the Mumbai Indians innings when Hayley Matthews chipped the ball towards the mid-on region. Rodrigues, who was stationed at mid-on, ran a couple of steps and dived full length to her right before completing a sensational catch.

This is not the first time Rodrigues stunned the onlookers with her acrobatic fielding. In the previous meeting between Mumbai and Delhi on March 9, the star Indian cricketer pulled off a phenomenal catch to dismiss Matthews. In that game, the ball went high in the night sky but it didn't have enough power to earn Matthews the desired result. Rodrigues came running from the long-off fence to the 30-yard circle before diving full length to complete an acrobatic catch.

Coming back to Monday's game between Mumbai and Delhi, Harmanpreet Kaur's team was tamed by the Capitals' bowlers. Marizanne Kapp, Shikha Pandey and Jess Jonassen bagged a couple of wickets each while Arundhati Reddy chipped in with one wicket to restrict Mumbai to a below-par score of 109/8 in 20 overs.
Pooja Vastrakar scored 26 runs off 19 balls and ended up as Mumbai's top-scorer on the evening. Captain Harmanpreet and Issy Wong scored 23 runs each. Mumbai's top-three batters in the batting order - Yastika Bhatia, Matthews and Nat Sciver-Brunt - combined for just six runs off 17 delivers as Delhi got off to a tremendous start.
Both Mumbai and Delhi have qualified for the playoffs.
