Shreyanka Patil got a marriage proposal from a fan during RCB vs GG WPL match.

Shreyanka's teammates were seen chuckling in the dugout.

Shreyanka has not yet claimed a wicket in the WPL 2024.

Shreyanka Patil received a marriage proposal from a fan during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Giants (GG) on February 28 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

A fan in the crowd held up a banner that read, "Will you marry me?" The proposal was shown on camera during RCB's run-chase while Smriti Mandhana and Sabbhineni Meghana were batting.

After seeing the banner, Shreyanka's teammates in the dugout burst into laughter.

Young fan's message for her Idol

21-year-old Shreyanka's extensive fanbase was evident when a young fan sent her a message. A girl was spotted holding a banner that read, "Shreyanka, you make RCB and Bengaluru proud. We have come to see you."

Last season, Shreyanka topped the wicket-taking charts for RCB. However, this year, she remained wicketless in both of her team's matches and also had limited opportunities to bat.

RCB currently leads the table with four points and a net run rate of +1.665, courtesy of consecutive wins in their matches. They secured an eight-wicket victory over the Giants on February 27.

Special for me: Shreyanka

Notably, Shreyanka reflected on her journey from being a fan cheering for RCB to representing the Bengaluru-based franchise before the match.

"I just love this energy. Since I was a kid, I used to be in the crowd, chanting "RCB, RCB". Now that they are chanting my name, it is special for me. This year we have got experience and the communication going around is amazing," she said.

Shreyanka also discussed the changes in her life since her debut for the Indian team last year in the T20I series against England.

"It has changed drastically for me. Post the WPL, I made my India debut, and it was special for me. Doing decently well for the Indian side and now coming back here in front of my home crowd, it feels amazing," she added.
