Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have been dealt a big blow as their star spinner Shreyanka Patil has been ruled out of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 due to injury, as per a report by India Today. It has been learnt that all-rounder Sneh Rana has joined the RCB squad and has been with the team for the past few days. Notably, Rana had been unsold in the previous WPL auction after being released by the Giants.

Shreyanka had been featured in pre-tournament videos posted by RCB, but her absence from the match against Ashleigh Gardner's Gujarat Giants (GG) on Friday, February 14 at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara raised concerns about her availability. Then came Shreyanka's social media post, hinting that she was facing some difficulties, which has now been confirmed as an injury.

Shreyanka ran riot with the ball in the last season of the WPL, where RCB ended up lifting the title. She bagged the Purple Cap and took four crucial wickets in the final against the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Shreyanka took 13 wickets in WPL 2025. However, her recent career has been plagued by injuries. She missed several games in the last WPL due to a finger injury and also sustained an injury during the Women's Asia Cup match against Pakistan, forcing her to sit out the remainder of that tournament.

Despite returning to play in the Women's T20 World Cup in the UAE, Shreyanka's injury troubles persisted, causing her to miss India's home series against Ireland and the West Indies. With the ODI World Cup later this year, the talented off-spinner faces a race against time to regain full fitness.

Meanwhile, RCB continues to grapple with a growing list of injuries. Their spin attack has been significantly weakened by the absence of Shreyanka, Sophie Molineux, and Asha Sobhana.  Furthermore, both Kate Cross and New Zealand's 2024 World Cup-winning captain, Sophie Devine, have withdrawn from the squad. This leaves RCB with Prema Rawat, Georgia Wareham, Charlie Dean, and Kanika Ahuja as their remaining spin bowling options in the absence of Shreyanka, Sobhana, and Molineux.
