Arsenal romped to a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on their home ground in North London, after being helped with the lead by Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris' own goal, and then Martin Odegaard's brilliant goal from distance giving the team an unassailable lead.
It continued the Premier League leader's unbeaten run to 12 matches, with 10 wins and two draws to their name. It was also the first time in nine years that the Gunners had won at the local rival's home stadium, but the occasion was marred by an unsavoury incident involving a man of the match and Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, and a fan of the losing side.
Ramsdale, who is known to instigate the opponent fans from time to time, was being heckled by Tottenham striker Richarlison after the full-time whistle was blown, and as the goalkeeper was ignoring the Brazilian and getting his bottle. Just as he was picking up his item, the goalkeeper was kicked by an unruly supporter are tempers flared and the security personnel were involved.

With the Arsenal players rightly furious after the incident, the players from both sides tried to protect their respective teammates, including the Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who at one point ran behind midfielder Granit Xhaka. The Swiss midfielder is known for being hot-headed for the badge he represents and Arteta had to cut short his celebrations for a few minutes to control his team.
The incident was condemned by all parties, with Tottenham releasing a statement that read, "The club has reviewed its CCTV footage to identify the supporter and will be working with the Met Police, Arsenal and Aaron Ramsdale to take the strongest possible action, including an immediate ban from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium."
Even the English FA took note of the issue, and are working with local authorities to find the culprit. "We strongly condemn the incident involving a spectator that followed today's Premier League fixture between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. This is wholly unacceptable behaviour and we will work together with the police, the relevant authorities and the clubs to ensure the appropriate action is taken," their statement read.
