Arsenal have done it again, as the Gunners have secured a 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie at the Emirates Stadium. The English club was at 1-1 draw after the conclusion of the first leg, but Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice had other plans in the second clash.

Big win for Arsenal

In the first half, Arsenal players managed to drop a masterclass performance with both attack and defence. In the 36 minute of the game, Eze scored a masterclass goal after receiving a perfect pass from Leandro Trossard.

In the second half, Arsenal star midfielder, Declan Rice scored an absolute screamer to make it 2-0 on the night, this goal put Arsenal into a comfortable lead and secured a clinical win.

After the game, Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta lavished praise on Eberechi Eze, saying he looks in different rhythm, with regular playing minutes he is getting a big boost in confidence.

“We needed a magical moment from Ebs to score a wonderful goal, a wonderful strike to give us the lead,” said Arteta.

Arteta also mentioned how playing regular games is working in the favour of the former Crystal Palace forward.

“I think he’s playing every three days now. He has the rhythm, he has understanding with his team-mates as well, what we want," Arteta added.

“Especially his level of activity with the ball, without the ball, in the spaces that he moves, the purpose that he’s showing every time he’s in and around the box as well, which is the reason why he’s here, to create those kind of moments," Arteta concluded.

Next challenge for Arsenal

With this win Arsenal have moved into the quarterfinals of the Champions League where they will be facing Sporting CP, who made an incredible comeback against Bodo Glimt and slotted 5 goals past them in the second leg to qualify for the last eight.
