Arsenal and Manchester City are set to fight for Newcastle United star Tino Livramento. The two Premier League clubs are aiming to sign the 23-year-old in the summer window.
Arsenal and Manchester City's interest in Tino Livramento
As per The Sun, Arsenal and Manchester City are interested to register their interest in his stay at the club, but are yet to hold talks over a new contract.
The right-back, who joined from Chelsea for £4 million in 2021, comes with a sell-on clause and that will push the fee up for any team interested in signing him. The report suggests that Newcastle United will not want anything less that £60 million when he enters the final two seasons on his contract this summer.
Livramento was questioned about his contract situation in December, and the English player was quick to reply that he had no update. He wants to focus on football and has left the contract talks to his agent and father, and said:
"That's nothing that I'm in control of. I leave that to my dad, to my agent. For me, I've been out for seven weeks. I've been working really hard to come back and obviously help the team. I'm very happy with how I've played. That's my focus, staying where I'm at now. That's always been my focus. Helping the team as much as I can."
Arsenal are interested in getting a right back since Walker's time at the club was coming to an end. Pep Guardiola has been using Mathus Nunes as the full with the Cityzens in the last few windows.
Arsenal maintain six points lead over Manchester City in Premier League title race
Manchester City dropped points again in the Premier League this week after a draw against Brighton. Although Arsenal could not bank on the slip and extend their lead over the Cityzens.
Mikel Arteta's team were held to a goalless draw by Liverpool at the Emirates. The Gunners now sit six points clear following 21 games, with 17 games remaining in the season.
Arsenal and Manchester City also have been joined by Aston Villa in the race this season, with Unai Emery's side sitting level on points with Cityzens.
