Rashford has openly admitted his desire to stay at Barça after winning his first trophy with the club.

Barcelona have held a fresh round of conversations with Manchester United for Marcus Rashford. The Catalan club want to sign him, but are not willing to activate the €30 million option they have at the end of the season.

Barcelona wants Marcus Rashford on permanent basis

As per a report by Ben Jacobs, Barcelona want to reduce the asking price and hope Manchester United agrees. They want to have the English winger in the squad next season and are open to signing him on another loan, with an obligation to buy him in 2027.

The report further reports that the meeting between the two sides happened this month, with the Spanish Super Cup winners pushing for conversations. They want to finish negotiations on new terms before the season comes to an end to prepare for the summer window.

Marcus Rashford's interest in Barcelona

Rashford is very much interested to join the Catalan side on a permanent basis and is not interested in talks with any other club. Barcelona are still going through a financial mess and are looking to save as much as possible.

Manchester United is also hoping to part ways with the academy product and do not see him coming back even after Ruben Amorim's departure. The English winger has a contract until 2028 at Old Trafford, and the Red Devils are looking to sell this summer.

Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford makes honest admission about Barcelona

Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford interacted with the media after the Spanish Super Cup win in Saudi Arabia, saying that he wants to stay at Barcelona on a permanent basis. He was happy to win his first silverware at the club and said:

"I am very happy today. It's the first trophy [with Barça] and it's always the best feeling to win the first one. I hope now we can win some more. I hope it's not the last one. It was a top performance. This is what we're capable of doing. There are still areas to improve, but we can enjoy this moment today. It's really good [being at the club]. When we win, it makes it so much easier."

"Throughout the season, even in moments when we have not played so well, we stick together and act as a team. For me, it's perfect and I am really enjoying my time here. Of course what I want is to stay at Barça. It's an end goal, but it's not the reason why I'm training hard and giving it my best. The purpose is to win. Barça is a huge, fantastic club, built to win titles."

Rashford has been out on loan from Manchester United since January 2025. He joined Aston Villa for the second half of last season before joining Barcelona on loan in the summer.
