Jose Mourinho is set to return to Stamford Bridge but this time, not as a Chelsea manager but to lead Benfica against the Blues. It would be a special return for the legendary former coach of the Premier League side who ended the club’s 50-year wait for a league title in 2005.
Special return of Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea face Benfica
Mourinho has helped Chelsea win seven major trophies, which include three Premier League titles, an FA Cup and three League Cups. The Portuguese had two spells with the team; one from 2004 to 2007, and another from 2013 to 2015. The 62-year-old, who has been Chelsea’s greatest manager, is now returning this week as the head coach of Benfica to face his former team which is now coached by Enzo Maresca.
Mourinho, who will be in charge of his only fourth match since accepting the job, led Inter Milan at the Bridge in 2010 after his first stint with the London club. He then coached Manchester United and Tottenham there following his second and is now gearing up for an emotional comeback. This is something which fans would definitely not want to miss and here is when and where to watch the eagerly awaited fixture.
