There is no doubt that Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most hardworking players the sport has ever witnessed. Many iconic players have lavished praise on the Portuguese forward for his sheer dedication towards the game.
Recently, former Real Madrid defender Marcelo has opened up on Ronaldo's leadership and work ethics. He called him out of the world in leadership despite being an amazing goal scorer in the game.
In an interview with FourFourTwo, Marcelo expressed his gratitude for having a chance to play with the Portuguese forward. The duo played a sum of 332 games together at Real Madrid.
“An immense privilege, Cristiano is different from everyone else – a leader, a tireless worker, and a player of great quality. Many people think he’s only about power, but they’re wrong. He’s an extraterrestrial,” said Marcelo.
Later, Marcelo reflected on his relationship with the Al-Nassr skipper as he labeled the bond special as both players share the same background while growing up.
“It was a relationship born out of spontaneity. Both of us are players shaped by the streets – we learned to play barefoot and just enjoyed ourselves. It’s a part of our essence, so we understood each other perfectly with just a glance. We never planned too much – I knew where he’d move and he knew how I’d make runs. Cristiano gave me advice from time to time – he was smart and understood the challenges we faced in every match,” concluded Marcello.

The post, which garnered millions of views and widespread fan engagement within hours, signals optimism despite earlier concerns about the injury's severity. The setback occurred during Al-Nassr's 3-1 victory over Al-Fayha on February 28, when Ronaldo was substituted in the 81st minute after showing discomfort in his hamstring.
Al-Nassr officially confirmed the diagnosis as a hamstring injury, with manager Jorge Jesus later describing it as "more serious than expected," prompting Ronaldo to travel to Madrid for specialized treatment with his personal medical team. Initial reports suggested a recovery timeline of 2–4 weeks, casting doubt on his participation in upcoming club fixtures and Portugal's international friendlies against Mexico and the United States later in March.
The injury has raised broader questions about his readiness for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to begin in June. Despite the cautious outlook from the club and medical assessments, Ronaldo's latest social media post emphasizes resilience and team loyalty, as he prepares to support Al-Nassr from the sidelines rather than the pitch.
