Zinedine Zidane is enamoured with the playing style of a rival team player. The former Real Madrid legend recently talked about how he was impressed by the sensational FC Barcelona star.

During his appearance at an event organised by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the French icon stated: 

"Beyond his position on the pitch, a player who gives me chills whenever he touches the ball is Lamine Yamal.” 

The 53-year-old, further, recalling one of his favorite moments of Lamal, said: 

“Against Inter Milan last season in the Champions League at San Siro, he did everything. On his own.”

Zidane, who recently revealed his desire to come back to coaching and hinted at managing the France international team someday, also stated that he likes the two Portuguese players of the Paris Saint-Germain, João Neves and Vitinha, as “they never lose the ball.”

Meanwhile, the La Liga winger is currently recovering following the Spaniard's groin problem settling down during the October international break. The 18-year-old  has struggled with a groin issue in the early stages of the 2025-26 campaign. The Spanish star has only played five games in overall competitions in which he has netted two goals and provided four assists. 

Yamal is reported to be sidelined for Girona on Saturday and next week’s Champions League clash with Olympiacos. His availability against the first El Clasico of the season is also uncertain.
