Manchester United recently suffered their third defeat in six Premier League games, falling to Brentford with a score of 3-1 at the Gtech Community Stadium. As a result, the Red Devils might soon be in the hunt for a new manager, and this former FC Barcelona head coach might be in for the job.

As United might soon be looking for a new manager, the Premier League side can end up with former FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez, as the Spaniard has been out of work for over a year. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via Caught Offside, Hernandez is one of the possible candidates to replace Ruben Amorim. As  per the Italian football expert:

“Xavi is studying the Premier League.”

Further was said:

“Xavi is monitoring the Premier League and Xavi would immediately go to Man United – even without European football, he would go immediately to Premier League.”

United are yet to string together back-to-back wins in the league under his guidance. Amorim is currently trying to create momentum following their recent loss. However, the team’s results have heaped additional scrutiny on Amorim. United finished 15th last season which was the team’s poorest showing in the league era. So far, the team has full faith in the Portuguese football manager and is backed by the side. It is to be seen if this still goes fruitless.

On the other hand, Xavi is reportedly waiting for a position in the Premier League. The former midfielder was sacked by the Spanish giants at the end of the 2023-24 season and was replaced by Hansi Flick. The 45-year-old then revealed that he would be taking a sabbatical year. The La Masia product has now started considering job offers from this summer; however, as of now, he has not found any which excite him. A move to Old Trafford would be a stunning step as he seeks his third managerial job.
