Karim Benzema has hinted at his possible return to Real Madrid as the former Los Blancos star reveals that he is in touch with president Florentino Perez. The 37-year-old is entering his final stretch of the current contract with Al-Ittihad, and the uncertainty around the club’s plans has left him thinking about his European return. Meanwhile, according to reports, several European clubs intend to bring the veteran back. However, it seems like his heart belongs to the Whites, where he dominated for over a decade.  

Karim Benzema says Real Madrid return is 'possible'; says he is in touch with Perez 

In an interview with AS, the Saudi League striker expressed that it's always possible for him to return to his former club as long as Perez is in charge. The French forward was asked what would happen if Real Madrid called him back. The Ballon d’Or winner replied: 

“He's someone I can never say no to. Florentino is special.”

Benzema continued: 

"If Florentino is still there, it could happen, it could happen. I talk to him and it's possible.” 

Benzema, whose career at Madrid began in 2009, also added: 

“I'm a Real Madrid fan. I feel it in my soul. Madrid is still my city, I feel like a Real Madrid fan and a Madrileno. We'll see what happens. If he's there…"

Benzema said in the aforementioned interview that Real Madrid will always be his team ans the former player still watches their games. He called it the “best club in the world.” The former UCL star stated that Madrid will always be the best team and has “a lot of potential.” He further added that the La Liga sides “can do more than it's doing right now."

He went on to become one of the greatest strikers after breaking several records. The player is one of the most decorated stars of the 15-time UCL champions, where he bagged 25 titles.

It remains to be seen if his return rumors come true with the club where he has won five UCL and four La Liga titles. In the meantime, his future in Jeddah continues to be uncertain, with his contract expiring at the end of this season.
