Liverpool icon and expert Jamie Carragher has asked for apology to Mohamed Salah for his comment on the forward on Monday. The former defender called the winger a 'disgrace' and appeared to belittle in his legacy in response to his viral outburst from last weekend.

As usual, Carragher came on CBS Sports' UEFA Champions League segment along with Thierry Henry , Kate Scott, and Micah Richards on Tuesday. Richards asked him on air if he would like to apologize to Salah, and he acceded the request, expressing his admiration for the Egyptian player.

"Mo, I apologise I've upset you. I love you as the Liverpool player, but you just need to behave yourself off the pitch", he said (via Mirror.co.uk).

Mohamed Salah was absent from the Liverpool team that faced Inter Milan in the Champions League after the club decided to leave him back at home. The 33-year old was deemed to have disrespected coach Arne Slot and the club with his comments after being left on the bench at Leeds United.

Carragher has been openly vocal in his criticism for the winger this season, previously asking the he be dropped from the starting line-up for his poor performances. Slot seems to have accepted the advice, seeing as the experienced striker had played just 45 minutes in three games before the Inter Milan game.

Liverpool coach reveals his next steps

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has signalled at a possible reconciliation with star winger Mohamed Salah after his outburst at Ellan Road last weekend. The former Chelsea player was left out of the squad for the game against Inter Milan after calling out the former Feyenoord boss.

Talking with reporters after the game in Italy, Slot said that everyone is entitled to make mistakes in life. He pointed out that it is very important for the players to recognize his actions as a mistake and take the initiative by approaching him for reconciliation.

“Well, you say everyone makes mistakes in life but the question is should the players also recognize that as well. And should the initiative come from the player or from me?”, he remarked (via @FabrizioRomano on X).

Slot was without the forward, who has amassed 250 goals for the Reds, as well as Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa, for the match against Inter Milan. His team managed to pick up all three points and come from the penalty spot in the second half.
