Lionel Messi has dropped his reaction on social media after guiding Inter Miami to win over FC Cincinnati. The Herons secured their place in the Eastern Conference final after a 4-0 thrashing of their rivals, with Messi playing the lead role.

Inter Miami were looking to claim a place in the finals of the Eastern Conference after eliminating Nashville in the first round of the playoffs. They came up against a team that defeated them in three of their last five games. The 38-year-old took to Instagram afterwards to celebrate the win.

"LETTSSS GOOOO!!! Great game from the whole team against an opponent that had always cost us a lot. One more step...", he captioned the post.

 

 

Messi failed to score a goal in the last three games vs FC Cincinnati, only giving two assists. The Barcelona icon scored a goal in just 19 minutes into the game with a nice header.

Then, Lionel Messi set up 19-year-old Silvetti to score his first goal of the playoffs in the 57th minute. The Argentine icon followed with another assist, this time for Tadeo Allende.

Inter Miami skipper Lionel Messi had a historic performance as his side ran out 4-0 winners vs FC Cincinnati at the TQL Stadium. The Herons booked their place in the Eastern Conference final with the win, and will lock horns with New York City FC at the Chase Stadium.

Messi had four goal contributions for his team with a goal and three assists, making him the first player to reach 12 goal contributions in a playoff campaign. The former PSG forward has now amassed six goals and given six assists in four games in these playoffs.

The reigning MLS MVP and 2025 Golden Boot winner, Lionel Messi is a potential winner for the 2025 MVP award after an amazing campaign in the MLS. He will aim to win two pieces of silverware in the next two weeks, with his team needing two wins to emerge as MLS Cup winners for the first time.
