Manchester United icon Andy Cole said that Manchester City star striker is one of the brilliant goal scorers in the history of the Premier League. The Englishman said that he has not seen anyone better in terms of goal-poaching ability than the Norwegian forward.
Andy Cole's brilliant record
Cole is widely known as one of the best forwards of his time. Between 1995 and 2002, he scored 121 goals and 44 assists in 275 games for Manchester United across all competitions.
With 187 goals in the Premier League, he is the fifth-highest goal scorer in the league's history. He was inducted into the EPL Hall of Fame in April 2024.
Erling Haaland's amazing records in the Premier League
If Erling Haaland maintains his current speed, he is on the way to break all the records in England. Aged 25, he has already scored 99 goals (18 assists) in just 108 EPL games for Manchester City.
In his debut EPL season, the Norwegian striker amassed 36 goals in just 35 games, breaking the record set by Cole (34 goals) for Newcastle United in a 40-game 1993-94 season. In a recent interview with Sky Sports, the 54-year-old appreciated the young striker saying:
"I think as a finisher, in that area, I don't think I have seen anyone better, doing what he does, at pure finishing."
When questioned if the 25-year-old is the best Premier League striker of all time, the Manchester United legend added:
"I'm not sure but at goalscoring and what he does, he's got to be up there. But, when you talk about the best Premier League striker, others haven't played the way he's played, who have scored goals... He's up there, but I'm not going to say he's the best striker that the Premier League has seen, I can't say that because I have got so much respect for the guys that have scored goals in a different era."
Great start to 2025-26 season for Erling Haaland
Haaland kicked off the 2025-26 season on a great note. He has scored 22 goals and two assists in 19 games for Manchester United across all competitions.
