Story Highlights:

Tyler Adams has emerged as a £40 million January target for Manchester United after impressing at Bournemouth.

The 26-year-old midfielder is seen as a cheaper alternative to Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson.

Manchester United are reportedly looking for a move for USMNT and Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams in the January transfer window.

The Red Devils splurged on new circuits in the summer transfer window, but none of them was a defensive midfielder. Casemiro has been included in Ruben Amorim's scheme of plans, but age is catching up with the Brazilian player. Manuel Ugarte, who is expected to be a backup for the veteran midfielder, has found it tough to find his footing at Old Trafford.

Adams joined Bournemouth from Leeds United in 2023 and has seen his stock rise at the Vitality Stadium. The 26-year-old recently grabbed everyone's attention after his goal from nearly 50 yards out against Sunderland, a strike that won the Premier League Goal of the Month award for November.

As per Daily Mail, Manchester United have identified Tyler Adams as a possible midfield target in the January transfer window and are preparing around £40 million for the Bournemouth player. Adams is said to be viewed as a  significantly cheaper alternative to other targets like Brighton's Carlos Baleba, Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton, and Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson.

Tyler Adams looking forward to Manchester United vs Bournemouth

Manchester United will have the chance to have close look Tyler Adams in action when they host Bournemouth on Monday. Ahead of the game, Adams relished the chance to shine on the big game.

“It’s just a special occasion,” Adams said on the Men in Blazers podcast. “This is what you grow up watching, whether you’re a fan or not. A fan of Manchester United walking into Old Trafford will change your perspective on everything.

“I played against Manchester United at Old Trafford during COVID[-19] with RB Leipzig. That was the first time I walked into Old Trafford and I was like, my dream is really to play in the Premier League because this is what it’s about right here. Now being able to go back and play there multiple times and have good results, especially makes it a little bit better. So yeah, I always get excited to play against United.”

Ahead of the game, United sit seventh, while Bournemouth are 15th in the Premier League table.
