Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha has lavished praise on teammate Bryan Mbuemo and manager Ruben Amorim. The Brazilian star did not want to discuss club football further, as he gave emphasis on the national team.
Matheus Cunha hails praise on Ruben Amorim and Bryan Mbuemo
Interacting with the Hyters TV, Cunha said it was great to play with players like Mbeumo and feels lucky to be playing under Amorim's coaching. He was not willing to explain, but said that he was happy to play anywhere on the field as long as he was playing and said:
"Amazing. What a player [Mbeumo]. You asked me some questions to think about United, right now my mind is in Brazil. But it's amazing to be there and it's amazing to play with big players like Bryan. And to be coached by a winner is always something I feel privileged about."
"My favourite position is to be on the pitch and help my team, of course. Right now in Brazil, I have a different job to come a little bit and help the team in the build-up and attack as a striker. I feel fine playing as a false nine, exactly, this kind of participation in the build-up and get on the ball more."
Matheus Cunha joined Manchester United in the summer after the Red Devils activated his £62.5 million release clause at Wolves.
Stephen Warnock compares Matheus Cunha to Manchester United icon
Former Liverpool player Stephen Warnock has compared Matheus Cunha to Manchester United icon Eric Cantona. He said that the Brazilian forward reminded him of the legendary forward against Liverpool and said on BBC.
"Matheus Cunha has been exceptional this season. He's been Manchester United's best signing of the transfer window in my opinion. I was at the game between Liverpool and United at Anfield, and I thought he was the best player on the pitch by a mile. He's got an arrogance that reminds me of Eric Cantona."
"You can see that he's embraced playing for Man United. It's almost as if whenever he steps on the pitch in a United shirt, he's showing people the reason the club have signed him. In today's market, £62.5 million for him is a brilliant deal and he's already one of United's key players."
Cunha has scored just one goal for the Red Devils in his 11 outings for the Red Devils since moving in the summer. He has started nine times and come off the bench twice.
