Real Madrid have been offered the opportunity to sign Liverpool icon Mohamed Salah on a six-month loan for a reported sum of €12 million in the January transfer window. As per news outlet Defensa Central, Salah's agents have reached out to Los Blancos over a possible move, amid the Egyptian player's uncertain future at Anfield.
Mohamed Salah's struggles at Liverpool
Despite penning a new two-year contract deal valid till the summer of 2027 earlier this year, Mohamed Salah has struggled to find his touch this season, amassing just five goals in 20 outings across all competitions. Additionally, the 33-year-old's future with Liverpool's hierarchy seems to be strained, after he publicly called out the club and Arne Slot after their 3-3 draw against Leeds United (December 6, 2025).
Mohamed Salah have been offered to Roma and Real Madrid
Mohammed Salah was dropped for one game before being recalled against Brighton. While the Egyptian is currently representing his country at the Afcon, his agents are reportedly offering him to clubs across Europe, consisting of Roma and Real Madrid.
Because of Kylian Mbappe's recent injury, Real Madrid have been offered Salah's services on a six-month loan as a short-term solution. The latter could possibly slot in well in Los Blancos' attack and help turn their season around.
However, Real Madrid reportedly consider Liverpool's €12 million transfer fee to be too high for a six for a six-month loan move and may not pursue the deal.
Chris Sutton makes scoreline prediction for Fulham vs Liverpool game
BBC Sport columnist Chris Sutton has supported Fulham to hold Liverpool to a 1-1 draw in their upcoming Premier League game. The two teams are set to lock horns at Craven Cottage on Sunday, January 4.
Disappointing season from Liverpool
The Reds have been disappointing this season in their title defense and are currently fourth in the table with just 33 points in hand from 19 games. They have failed to maintain consistency, having drawn three games and lost six to date. Meanwhile, Fulham are 11th with 27 points.
Sutton wrote:
"Fulham did really well over Christmas, especially when you consider they have lost key players to the African Cup of Nations. Liverpool must be massively disappointed with their display and result against Leeds, after the upturn in their performances in the past couple of weeks."
He added:
"Like a lot of teams, Arne Slot's side are maybe short of energy at such a busy time of year, and are lacking the spark they need. They lost here last season, and Fulham will fancy a repeat result. I'm not sure about that, but I do think Marco Silva's side will get something from the game."
The last time Fulham hosted Liverpool in the Premier League, the former secured a thrilling 3-2 win last season in April, 2025.
