Barcelona secured one of the biggest wins in the history of the UEFA Champions League, as the Catalan club demolished Newcastle United 7-2 in the second leg of the Round of 16 tie at Camp Nou, sealing an 8-3 aggregate victory to reach the quarter-finals. Robert Lewandowski was one of the players who shined in the clash with a quick brace.

With his two goals in the night, Lewandowski has achieved an unique feat in the Champions League, as the 37-year-old striker became the player to score goals against 41 different opponents.

Before Lewandowski, Lionel Messi was the player to score against the most number of opponents in the Champions League. The Argentine icon managed to score against 40 opponents during his time in Europe.

In the current UEFA Champions League campaign, Lewandowski has struggled a bit, as he managed to score just four goals in eight appearances so far. In the league, the Polish striker managed to record 11 goals in 23 outings.

With a mammoth win over Newcastle United, Barcelona advances to the quarterfinals of the Champions League, where they could possibly meet their league rivals, Atletico Madrid, if they restrict Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg.
