Courtois left the Real Madrid facility on Tuesday with a bout of gastroenteritis. Following this, the 33-year-old was ruled out of the training ahead of the match against Olympiacos. The goalkeeper is recovering from “a gastrointestinal viral infection” as per the club’s medical report. His progress is currently being monitored. However, the former Chelsea player should be able to make his return when the Whites face Girona in their upcoming La Liga clash on November 30 (December 1 IST).
Meanwhile, along with Courtois, several other key players have been sidelined, including Dean Huijsen, who was ruled out of their recent game due to a muscular problem. Franco Mastantuono did not play as well following a groin issue, while Dani Carvajal has been sidelined due to a Knee problem. The Real Madrid veteran has been out since El Clasico in October, and the defender underwent an operation. His return is uncertain.
