Cristiano Ronaldo led Al-Nassr picked up a hard fought 3-1 win over Al-Fayha in the Saudi Pro League game. Sadly Ronaldo wasn't able to contribute in the win, as he missed a crucial penalty and had to leave the field because of an unknown injury. However, the Knights of Najd made a comeback which was initiated by their another veteran player, Sadio Mane.
What happened to Cristiano Ronaldo?
During the post game press conference, Al-Nassr coach, Jorge Jesus, revealed that the Portugal international sustained a muscle fatigue and all the required medical tests will be performed to know the seriousness of the injury.
"Ronaldo suffered from muscle fatigue, and the medical staff will urgently conduct the necessary tests to determine his condition. We must continue winning and maintain our lead, as the league battle is fierce and the competition is high from all teams", said Jorge Jesus.
Al-Nassr's hard fought win over Al-Fayha
Before sustaining the injury, Ronaldo had an off day at the office, as he shockingly missed a penalty in the 11th minute of the game and things went bad afterwards as Al-Fayha gained the lead in the first half stoppage time.
However in the 72nd minute, Sadio Mane scored the equaliser with a close range shot and an own goal from Orlando Mosquera provided the lead.
Abdullah Al-Hamdan sealed the game with his goal in the 85th minute with an amazing assist from Joao Felix.
Al-Nassr lead the SPL standings
As of now, Al-Nassr lead the Saudi Pro League standings with 61 points in hand in 24 games played. They have a two point lead over the second placed Al-Ahli with 59 points.
