The Dallas Stars were hit with an untimely injury ahead of the playoffs as their star forward, Jason Robertson suffered a low-body injury during Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Nashville Predators.
What did Dallas Stars' coach Pete DeBoer said about Jason Robertson's injury?
Robertson left the game early in the second period after being hit into the boards by Predators winger Michael McCarron. The Dallas Stars coach Pete DeBoer said after the match that,
The purpose of resting people down the stretch was to hopefully avoid injury and unfortunately we didn’t do that with the Robertson injury.
Robertson even left the stadium with a brace on his right knee and was evidently in pain, according to Emma Lingan. His latest injury puts his availability in jeopardy against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday at 6:00 pm ET.
Robertson finished the regular season with 35 goals and 45 assists to his name as he played all the 82 matches. It is also his third season in which he has played each and every game for the Dallas Stars. The Dallas Stars have finished the Central Division with a 50-26-6 record but they enter the playoffs on a seven-game losing streak.
Nashville Predators defeats Dallas Stars 5-1
It was Mason Marchment who opened the deadlock for the Dallas Stars with just 16 seconds into the game, he received a beautiful pass from Matt Duchene behind the net. Jordan Oesterle answered back midway as his slap shot was deflected off Stars' Mavrik Bourque as the score tied at 1-1.

Particularly with the injuries. But we’ve got to figure it out. I mean, Saturday is the first time in probably three weeks where we’re playing with basically our season back on the line again, so that desperation level has to be there, DeBoer said.
Our execution has to be there. So, we’ve got to make sure we’re ready for that, DeBoer concluded.
It was then Jonathan Marchessault who made it 4-1 with a backdoor tap-in off a cross from Steven Stamkos. Ryan O'Reilly extended the lead as he finished off a cross-slot pass from Filip Forsberg as the Predators thrashed Stars 5-1.
