The Bengal Warriors broke their four-match losing streak with an outstanding defensive effort, triumphing over the Telugu Titans 46-26 in the Pro Kabaddi League game held at the DOME by NSCI in Mumbai on Tuesday, January 9. The highlight of the match was Warriors' defender Vaibhav Garje, who earned an impressive 9 tackle points, making him the standout player of the game, while Titans' captain Pawan Sehrawat achieved another Super 10.
In the absence of their captain and star raider Maninder Singh, the Bengal Warriors saw Nitin Kumar rise to the occasion. His dynamic raids posed a significant challenge to the Telugu Titans' defence. Additionally, the Warriors' defensive pair, captain Shubham and Vaibhav, put on a stellar performance that evening. The Warriors swiftly secured the first ALL OUT in just 7 minutes, establishing a 10-4 lead.
The Titans' captain, Pawan, had a lackluster performance, and their raiding team struggled to make an impact against the dominant Warriors' defence. Vaibhav's skillful tackle on Pawan, earning him his 6th tackle point in the first half, was a key moment. The Warriors continued their momentum, achieving the second ALL OUT just before the half-time break, leading the former champions with a substantial 17-point advantage at 27-10.
In the second half, the Titans rallied, making a determined effort to turn the game around. They quickly accumulated points, and their persistent efforts culminated in the 33rd minute when Pawan skillfully outmaneuvered Shubham and Aditya Shinde, leading to an ALL OUT. This significant move reduced the Warriors' lead to just 9 points, with the score at 33-24. However, Nitin thwarted the Titans' comeback hopes by eluding Sandeep Dhull and Mohit in a decisive raid, resulting in a third ALL OUT for the Titans. As the match neared its conclusion with less than two minutes left, the Warriors were ahead 42-24. Shubham's final tackles on Pawan and Robin Chaudhary not only earned him a High 5 but also secured the fourth victory of the season for his team.
