Pro Kabaddi League: Pawan, Naveen share limelight as Bengaluru Bulls play stalemate with Dabang Delhi KC

Bengaluru Bulls and Dabang Delhi KC put up a show but had to settle with a 36-36 stalemate in the the 93rd match of the Pro Kabaddi League season 8 played at Sheraton Grand Whitefield in Bengaluru on Friday (February 4).

 

Delhi started with a bang and took a lead of 8 points, after which the Bulls made a comeback and made the score 19-14 by the first half. In the second half, the Bulls took a 10-point lead after getting Delhi out twice in a row. But after dismissing Pawan, Delhi came back again and leveled the score. 

 

In this match, Pawan Sehrawat and Naveen Kumar completed their own Super 10, while Joginder Narwal scored the maximum four tackle points.

 

Delhi kicked off in style 

Dabang Delhi KC won the toss and invited Bengaluru Bulls to raid first. Pawan Sehrawat took a point and Krishan Dhull was self-out, while Naveen Kumar signaled his return by dismissing two defenders. After this Naveen for Delhi and Pawan for Bulls scored consecutive points and made the score 5-5. Delhi achieved success by making a brilliant tackle of Pawan, then after that Naveen was also tackled by the defense of the Bulls.

 

By tackling Abolfazel Maghsodlou, Delhi’s defense got Naveen back. With the Bulls all out in the 12th minute, Delhi took a 13-8 lead. Bulls tried to make a comeback by dismissing three consecutive raiders of Dabang Delhi. When the first half ended, Dabang Delhi was ahead 18-14. Naveen Kumar made a great comeback and scored seven points in 7 raids. While Pawan Sehrawat was able to get only one touch point in five raids.

 

Bengaluru rode on defensive strategy

At the beginning of the second half, Bengaluru Bulls quickly all-out Delhi and restricted Delhi’s lead to just one point. Pawan equalized the score by taking a bonus. In the second half, the Bulls’ defense showed a great game and took a 22-19 lead. By getting Delhi all out for the second time within 10 minutes, the Bulls extended their lead to 10 points. Pawan completed his 13 Super 10s this season. Where the Bulls had scored 18 points in the second half, Dabang Delhi could only add 3 points to their account.

 

After this, Delhi took its score to 27 by taking five points. Naveen completed his 8th Super 10 this season by dismissing Jaideep. After this, Delhi all-out the Bulls and made the score 33-34. After this both the teams showed a great game and the match was tied at 36-36. Pawan Sehrawat scored 17 marks.

 

Meanwhile, in another match Patna Pirates came down heavily on Gujarat Giants and thrashed them 43-23.
