The reigning constructors' champions are facing scrutiny, with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez underperforming.

Despite having a contract extension through 2026, Perez's future remains uncertain.

Red Bull has announced a significant update regarding their driver lineup ahead of the US Grand Prix in Austin next weekend. As Formula 1 resumes at the Circuit of the Americas, the reigning constructors' champions are facing scrutiny, with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez underperforming compared to their strong start to the season. Following a crash by Perez at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Red Bull lost its top position in the standings to McLaren, making it crucial for them to maximize points in the final six races of the year.

Team principal Christian Horner has offered explanations for the team's recent decline, but time is running short for Perez to prove himself and avoid a fate similar to that of Daniel Ricciardo, who was recently let go from the team.

Despite having a contract extension through 2026, Perez's future remains uncertain, and he is under pressure to perform at COTA to secure his seat. In a show of support, Red Bull has released a special cap for Perez fans, coinciding with the US GP, alongside a hat for Verstappen available on their official site. This follows a similar promotion for Verstappen's home race in Mexico, scheduled for October 27, 2024.
