Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton are currently the drivers line-up for Ferrari. Despite their dismal run placed at 4th in Constructors standing with 78 points and placed 5th and 7th respectively in the F1 Drivers Standing 2025, An ex Formula one Driver has hailed the pair as the strongest of 2025.
Ex-F1 Driver Marc Gene believes both the players are pushing each other and working together in tandem and results are inevitable.
Despite None of the Ferrari Driver winning any race this season Gene believes that they are the best lineup of the year and can do wonders in the ongoing season.
Gene talking in the 'Beyond The Grid' podcast said - “It’s the best, I don’t think you can have a better line-up. Charles is at a very good point in his career – he’s matured so much".
He further talked about Charles former teammate and current William driver Carlos Sainz-
“Being the team mate of Carlos, who’s also very diligent, technically very good, very organised, worked so hard… being the team mate of Seb… Charles has been very lucky to have two such good team mates.
“Therefore, now even having Lewis as a team mate, they work very well [together]. They are not political. I can really tell that they work very well [together], and they are pushing each other," Gene added.
Hamilton's arrival unfair for Sainz
Gene also talked about how Ferrari was unfair in sacking Carlos for Seven-Time World Champion.
“Of course, I was sorry for Carlos, because I’m Spanish and I have a very good relationship with him,” he said. “But when you have the opportunity to have Lewis in the team, and it was a love affair, a mutual love affair, you understand the decision that Ferrari took.”
